"Windows Computer Not Recognizing External Hard Drive Recognized By Other Computers 100%",So I have a WD external harddrive formatted in FAT32 that I always keep connected to my Windows machine. It has worked every day since I got it last year but since last week it started to not be automatically recognized by my machine and then today, almost not recognized at all (meaning it took me 3hrs of reconnecting for it to finally reconnect). I own a macbook pro and when I connect the external to it it automatically recognizes it. I tested it on 2 Imacs and 2 other windows machines and it works perfectly on them but for some reason, it doesn't on mine. I tried connecting someone else's external to mine and it doesn't read that either. But my usb ports work fine because I'm able to connect my keyboard/mouse/phone usb to them. I tried changing the driver letter in disk management but that also didn't fix it. So to sum it all up: -My Windows computer can only sometimes recognize my FAT32 external hard drive and definitely cannot recognize my friend's ext harddrive. -It CAN recognize any other usb devices such as phones, keyboard and mouse. -My external HHD CAN be recognized by my macbook pro as well as 2 other imacs and 2 other windows I tested it on.
