"WD Elements 1TB hard disk is not detecting", Like many other I am also facing the problem with WD Elements 1tb external disk. Light is blinking and able to hear noise( tick) but its not detecting in my machine. I opened device management window and its asking me to intialize the disk. I think this is the reason why I am unable to see WD HD in Western Digital DataLifeGaurd software too. I was suggested to take data back up first before intiliazing HD in device management window. However there is not guarantee that it will work. I tried taking data backup with using third party tools but it dint helped. Till date I never dropped the HD even once and I dont know how all of sudden it stopped working. And data recovery is not a small thing and its expensive too. I dont know why these many complaints against WD products. As prakas001 stated is there anything wrong with these products? Can anyone please help me if there is a way to fix this
