Windows XP 4TB to 5TB Seagate external drive replacement not showing: I have 3 machines running Windows XP. They run our disc printers for an audio/video publishing company and XP is the only OS that is compatible with our ancient machines. We have been using 4TB Seagate expansion drives for years as storage for our files and disc images. I have just purchased a Seagate 5TB drive to replace one where the usb plug is starting to wear out. When I plug it in to any of the machines, I get no response. The drive is shown in the Device Manager, but does not appear in Explorer, Disk Manager, or even DISKPART. when I plug in another drive after the new one, it will skip a number and show as Disk 3 even though there's no Disk 2 showing. I have formatted the drive on another machine running Windows 7, but this has not fixed the issue. The machines have several removable disks so I think it may be a drive letter issue, but I can't get it to show up anywhere to actually change the drive. Does anyone else have another fix? I have found several similar issues, but they typically have a fix involving the disk manager which hasn't worked since the disk will not appear.
