Will spin, but not show up on computer: I got a Seagate 4Tb external for my husband, last week he tells me that after he brings it home from work one day it just stopped working. So I take it, try some different cords, and it refuses to power up or do anything. I pulled off the base, and hooked it directly into my computer. now I hear it running, it spins away like everything is fine, no strange noises. However it does not show up anywhere in "My Computer" or the Device Manager. I even tried running CHKDSK on it, but since it does not show up I just tried several letters with the constant message of "The system cannot find the drive specified". I believe it reads it as something, because when I first plugged it in I got the BSOD with kernal_data_inpage_error. Taking it to a professional is not an option at the moment, as all quotes I have gotten have been over 400 dollars. So any suggestions would be great on how to get to this stuff before I have to send the thing back for a replacement.
