"Hard drive crashed and want to fix/recover", I have a HP 2000 laptop with a SATA drive 750gb. One day the computer hung at the HP logo. I've had some people look at it on the side, guys that were in the computer business, and they haven't been able to get access to the main partition itself to do anything with it. I can access the "recovery" partition, but not the main partition with the windows 8 installation and the rest of the info. I have connected the drive to an external usb case and the drive comes up in explorer on the 3 other computers that I have plugged it into, but the computer hangs if you try to access the main drive. Again, it will let you into the "recovery" part, just not the main part. I've tried the free recuva version and one other recovery software, but neither can access the drive. I'm trying the "freezing" trick now, but we'll see. Any other suggestions on how to at least recover some of the data from this drive?
