"Recovering files removed by chkdsk " ,I've been working on this laptop recently and I had it wiped clean via cmd. Prior to that, I did move out all the files that was needed to my desktop by removing the laptop's hard drive and connecting it to my desktop. After install Windows 8.1 Pro, I moved back the files into the laptop's hard drive via the same method. The thing is, I stupidly moved the whole backup file thing into the C: drive of the laptop's hard drive instead of saving on the desktop. Soon enough, when booting into Windows using the laptop, I notice a few issues here and there. I then tried moving the files that was in the C: drive on the the desktop but it says it was corrupted. Therefore, I performed chkdsk C: /f and found that Windows was good again. But when I checked back the C: drive, my backup is gone. Immediately shut down the laptop, took out the hard drive, and connected back to my desktop to recover the files. To no avail however. Been using EaseUS Data Recovery Technician and performing deep scan but I couldn't locate back the backup. I do know however that the files are still there as when I check the properties of the hard drive, it says 256 GB used. The file size of the Backup is approximately 220GB and the total file size in the drive when manually checked is only 23.6GB.
