"GTX 970 BSOD nvlddmkm.sys", I just recently got a GTX 970. I installed it into my system and it's been working fine for the past 3-4 days in BF3, BF4, League, and CS:GO. I bought Tomb Raider when I ran the game, it started lagging in the main menu then I got a BSOD. "Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed," something about "nvlddmkm.sys." With the GTX 970 inserted, the system would BSOD right before the Windows Logon screen appears. I tried reinserting the GTX 970, but it didn't solve anything. I removed the GTX 970 completely and inserted my GTX 650, which is my backup GPU. I booted up my PC and everything was working flawlessly. I was able to play games perfectly fine, though I didn't try Tomb Raider because I didn't want to get another BSOD. I figured it might've been a drivers issues, so with the GTX 650 inserted, I performed a clean install of the graphics drivers, restarted the PC and it was working flawlessly. So I removed the GTX 650 and re-inserted my GTX 970. I boot up my PC, and what do you know, the BSOD is back. Did some Google'ing and one of the results said this might've occurred because of an unstable CPU/GPU overclock. My GTX 970 was at stock speeds, so it couldn't have been that. I restarted my PC and went into BIOS to reset my CPU back to stock speeds. Now when I boot up my PC, the Windows Logon screen finally appears, but only for 2-5 seconds before the BSOD occurs.
