"External Seagate GoFlex hard drive not recognized after being used as internal hard drive",I was taking a backup of Windows 7 desktop PC when this happened......I had plugged my external Seagate Goflex 1TB hard drive ( after removing the usb 2.0 to sata converter ) into an internal SATA port for taking a quick backup of my system. The backup went smoothly using clonezilla. The drive was working fine till then. The problem started when I pluggged the Seagate drive back into a usb port. I got an error message saying " USB device not recognized - One of the USb device attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it" I tried the following steps from other posts in this website 1) When I checked the device manager , it had an unknown device with a yellow exclamation mark. I tried to update the drivers but it tells me that "The best driver for your hardware is already installed" 2) In Disk Management ,this device is not listed or shown without a drive letter assigned. Also, I uninstalled the driver and tried plugging it again...still no joy. 3) I tried plugging this device into another sytem, thei8r too , I got the same error message-USB Device not recognized. If I try plugging this drive back into an internal sata port...it works fine and shows up. I have run out of things to try out.... can we do something else or would I have to reinstall the OS
